Body of missing Highland Park canoeist recovered from lake
STURGEON BAY, Wis. — Door County sheriff’s officials say the body of a missing canoeist has been found in Lake Michigan on the shore of Washington Island.
Forty-five-year-old Mayur Patel of Highland Park had been missing since Oct. 16 when his canoe overturned about a-quarter mile from where his body was discovered Monday.
A 49-year-old man canoeing with Patel swam back to shore when the boat overturned. Authorities identified the survivor as Paolo Luzzatti of Lisle.
