Rabattini quits committee post:

Island Lake Trustee Laurie Rabattini has quit her post as leader of the village board’s finance committee. She will remain on the village board. Rabattini was appointed to the post this spring after election-related changes on the board. Rabattini announced her decision during last week’s board meeting. A critic of Mayor Debbie Herrmann and some village employees, Rabattini cited communications problems and displeasure with the village’s financial practices among the reasons for the change. A successor has not been named.
