Abortion or murder all in the timing
Jessica Cruz is being held without bail on murder charges for the termination of her child shortly after birth, as reported in the Daily Herald. Her big mistake was her failure to go to a clinic before birth so that an abortion provider could perform the termination. The main difference is timing and technique.
At the present time, the law considers the abortion option as perfectly OK. However, the “do it yourself” option that she chose is considered first-degree murder. Is it fair to the mother that she faces 20 years to life in prison for choosing the option that is different from the other option by timing and technique? Of course not.
The playing field here should be more level. The law should be changed for more consistent treatment between the two options.
