Brent Seabrook out, but Hawks might have Dave Bolland for Canucks

The Blackhawks won’t have Brent Seabrook when they play the the Canucks on Wednesday night at Rogers Arena, but they might have Dave Bolland.

Seabrook will sit with a leg injury suffered in Sunday’s win over Edmonton, but coach Joel Quenneville said Tuesday it was not a serious issue with the defenseman.

“He’s progressed well,” Quenneville told reporters. “It’s not serious.”

Bolland practiced Tuesday in Vancouver after missing the last three games with a right foot injury. The decision will be made after the morning skate about Bolland’s status for the Canucks.

“It’s encouraging we saw him out there and there’s a chance he can play,” Quenneville said.

“I’m still working my way back in,” said Bolland, who hurt his foot blocking a shot against St. Louis last week. “We’ll see how it goes and how I feel. We’ll see what Joel wants to do. I’ll go by what he says.”

With Seabrook missing at Tuesday’s practice, Steve Montador was paired with Duncan Keith and Nick Leddy with Niklas Hjalmarsson.

The third pair at practice was Sami Lepisto and John Scott, with Sean O’Donnell the seventh defenseman.

O’Donnell and Lepisto have been healthy scratches the last three games.

This will be the second grudge match of the regular season for the Hawks and Canucks.

Vancouver won 6-2 at the United Center last week, scoring 5 power-play goals in the rout.

“We embarrassed them last time in their building, and I’m not going to lie, it felt good,” Canucks center Ryan Kesler told the Vancouver Province. “But they’re going to be ready. They always are.”

The Hawks have won three in a row and will have no problem getting up for the Canucks.

“Every shift is competition, not personal, but you don’t want the other guy to one-up you,” Jonathan Toews told reporters after Tuesday’s practice.

Luongo also took a hard shot off his face mask in that game, denting his cage.
