Winter Clothing Drive A Success

The Village of Mount Prospect's Community Connections Center's recent ‘Winter Clothing Drive' was a wonderful success. 179 persons, from 47 households, received new and gently used warm clothing just in time for the colder weather. Recipients represented families throughout Mount Prospect, but also included some of the families who were victims of the fire at the Colonial Greens Apartments this past summer. Victoria Bran noted, “As part of the Village's Human Services Department, we felt it important to reach out to the fire victims. These families lost all of their possessions. This was an opportunity to show the families we are thinking of them.” This effort was made possible by the many individuals and families who generously gave coats, sweaters, gloves, hats and other articles of clothing. We are also grateful to the businesses and Village Departments that facilitated the drive: Bruno Realty Corporation, Busse Car Wash, Costco, Downtown Merchants Association, Mount Prospect Police and Fire Departments, Mount Prospect Public Library, Mount Prospect Public Works, and Mount Prospect Village Hall.
