Parent night out:

Parents of children ages 6 months to 11 years can enjoy an evening on their own while kids enjoy activities at Lake County Family YMCA facilities in Waukegan and Vernon Hills at the Halloween-themed Pumpkin Pizzazz, from 6:15 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7. Parents can sign up their children for an evening of arts and crafts, games, music and snacks. Future parents’ night out events are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 4, and Friday, Dec. 9.
