Vikings coach says cutting Berrian not ‘personal’
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier has had several difficult decisions to make in his first year on the job.
The latest came this week when he led the moves to waive struggling veteran wide receiver Bernard Berrian and suspend cornerback Chris Cook without pay following a felony assault charge. In training camp, left tackle Bryant McKinnie was let go after he showed up overweight.
Frazier says he’s committed to the best interests of the team and won’t let other factors influence his judgment.
The Vikings are pursuing a roster exemption from the NFL for Cook, who is the fourth player on the team to be arrested since Frazier became coach.
