Huntley splits at Freeport

Huntley 5, Milledgeville 2: The Red Raiders (4-3) got the bats going early as they scored 4 runs in the first inning and never looked back, picking up a victory at the Freeport Tournament.

Taylor Larson and Tara Lycos led the Red Raiders turning in 2-for-3 efforts from the plate and each contributing 1 RBI while Nikki DeMarco doubled and batted 2 runners in. Kacy Kane (2-0) earned the victory as she gave up just 2 hits while striking out 3 in a complete-game effort.

Oak Forest 9, Huntley 2: Defending Class 3A state champ Oak Forest proved to be too much for Huntley (4-3) for the second day in a row at the Freeport tournament. Kelsey Hagan led the Red Raiders with a double while Jenna Mychko recorded an RBI in a 1-for-2 effort from the plate. Kacy Kane (2-1) suffered the loss, scattering 7 hits.
