Wauconda Fire open house:

The Wauconda Fire District will host its annual open house for the community on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Station 1, 109 W. Liberty St., Wauconda. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature live demonstrations, displays and informational booths. Visitors will have an opportunity to tour the station and see and touch the lifesaving equipment firefighters use every day. Visitors can also donate blood in the LifeSource Blood Services’ mobile donation coach. Free refreshments will be provided.
