Elk Grove police officer injured in motorcycle crash
An Elk Grove Village police officer was injured in a motorcycle accident while on duty Monday night, officials said.
Schaumburg police and firefighters arrived at the scene on Martingale Road about three-quarters of a mile south of Schaumburg Road about 7 p.m., said Schaumburg Fire Batallion Chief Ken Wood.
Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl said details of the crash were unavailable Tuesday morning, but said the police officer was in serious but stable condition at Alexian Brothers Medical Center and suffering from nonlife threatening injuries.
He said accident reconstruction technicians were on the scene until about 10 p.m., but details of the crash remain unreleased at this time.
