Roosevelt U. hosts domestic violence forum
For victims of domestic violence, asking for help is often the most difficult step toward recovery. Roosevelt University, in conjunction with the Northwest Suburban Alliance on Domestic Violence, hopes to “Break the Silence” on this issue by hosting an evening of speakers and exhibits aimed at raising awareness about relationship violence and its impact on suburban families. “Break the Silence on Domestic Violence” will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Roosevelt’s Schaumburg campus, 1400 N. Roosevelt Blvd. The public is invited to attend. The keynote address will be given by Wendy Cohen, senior policy adviser on women’s issues for the Office of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan.
