Submitted by Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region

The College of DuPage photojournalism and portraiture students will showcase inspiring photos that share the stories of independence for more than 20 clients at Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region in the 12th annual photography exhibition, “Striving Toward Independence.”

An opening celebration will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, followed by a program at Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region, 830 S. Addison Ave., Villa Park.

Since 1942, Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region has been helping children walk, sit up, ride a bike, and say “I love you” for their first time. This year’s photography exhibit features the independence of many Easter Seals’ clients. The photographs and the stories they tell offer hope and inspiration to parents who have children with special needs. In collaboration with the College of DuPage, Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region welcomes the community to celebrate these accomplishments as well as the talents of the College of DuPage photojournalism and portraiture students at this year’s exhibit.
