Cary Grove chamber wants community photos

The Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for your snapshots of children, families and community life in the Cary Grove area. The photos could be used to update the 2012 issue of the Cary Grove Community Guide.

“Each year we try to capture a unique glimpse of hometown life on the pages of our Community Guide,” said Suzanne Corr, executive director.

“We're looking for residents to submit their best shots, depicting everyday activities involving family, friends and business associates. We would like to include some of them in our 2012 edition.”

The Community Guide is delivered each January to more than 7,000 homes in Cary and Fox River Grove, reaching about 27,000 residents. It is available throughout the year in key locations such as the village halls, local real estate offices, the libraries, bank lobbies, the chamber office, various businesses and other locations. The guide also is distributed throughout the year at large community events.

The guide provides a wealth of information on everything from local government, utility and village services, churches, community clubs and organizations, local businesses and a complete listing of chamber members. Chamber members are listed for free in the publication, creating a significant business resource guide for local residents.

More than 500 local businesses and business professionals are now Cary Grove Chamber members. If you want your business listed in the 2012 Community Guide, visit www.carygrovechamber.com for a membership application form.

“The guide is a free publication for residents completely supported and funded by chamber members,” Corr said.

“In addition to its resource value, it also includes numerous pictures of chamber and community events that symbolize the quality of life we have in our communities. We're looking for photos of children's sporting events and activities, family participation in local events, and pictures of day-to-day happenings. If your photos are selected, you'll see yourself in our 2012 edition.”

To submit your snapshots for the 2012 Community Guide, email your photos to the chamber at info@carygrovechamber.com. Include your name and contact number, a description of the photo and a written statement granting permission to the chamber to use your photographs.

You will be notified if your photos have been selected. Other photos used in the guide have been taken at large public events. The deadline for photos is Thursday, Oct. 20.
