Local writers to read at Barrington library cafe

Local writers will read their original poems, stories and memoirs from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at the Barrington Area Library, 505 N. Northwest Hwy., Barrington.

The library will be transformed into a “bistro” where the audience can settle in with a hot coffee and a treat and hear local writers share their work.

All adults are welcome at this free event co-sponsored by the Barrington Writers Workshop and the Barrington Area Library. Registration is requested online at barringtonarelibrary.org, or call (847) 382-1300.

The Barrington Writers Workshop is a 33-year-old community group of local writers dedicated to sharing and promoting the writing craft. Weekly meetings focus on the reading, critique and discussion of members’ work, with additional hands-on workshops/classes offered throughout the year.
