Vista's Healthy Woman Expo & Dinner Sept. 22

In just two weeks, more than a thousand women are expected to descend on the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort on Thursday, Sept. 22, for the Healthy Woman Expo and Dinner sponsored by Vista Health System. The annual event begins with the free Women's Health Expo from 3 - 6 p.m., immediately followed by a ticketed dinner featuring inspirational guest speaker Abby Rike from NBC's “The Biggest Loser.”

The expo is free and open to the public with no reservations needed. Vista will provide a wide range of information or screenings related to cholesterol, cardiac care, osteoporosis, weight management and breast health. In addition, Vista Physician Group doctors will make presentations focused on women's health issues throughout the afternoon every half hour and be available for questions afterward. The Expo will also feature dozens of local vendors offering many kinds of beauty products, apparel, jewelry, spa/fitness services, popular household items and much more.

The dinner begins at 6 p.m. with reservations still available. Dinner tickets are $25 for Healthy Woman members and $30 for non-members (cash bar not included). Healthy Woman membership is free. Dinner seating is limited and advanced reservations are required. Visit www.VistaHealth.com/HealthyWoman to purchase dinner tickets online, to become a Healthy Woman member or for more information.

The featured speaker at the dinner will be Abby Rike who gained national notoriety on NBC's hit show, “The Biggest Loser.” Abby's inspirational presentation will focus on her journey of healing after the tragic loss of her husband, 5-year-old daughter and 2-week-old son in an auto accident. She later became a contestant on the popular reality show in May 2009 where she lost 100 pounds while gaining peace and strength. Her speech will focus on the importance of health and wellness to promote spiritual, emotional and physical healing.

The Marriott Lincolnshire Resort is located just south of Half Day Road and east of Milwaukee Avenue. The expo will be held in the resort's new Grand Marquee Tent with the dinner in the Grand Ballroom. Limited expo vendor space is still available. Interested vendors should contact Kelly Keefe at Kelly_Keefe@chs.net.
