Streamwood police, FBI looking for bank robber

Police and the FBI want the public's help in finding the man who robbed a Streamwood bank Friday night.

Video cameras caught the robbery, which occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. at the Chase Bank at 151 E. Irving Park Road. The robber passed a note to a teller demanding money and implied a weapon, but didn't display one, the FBI said. The note's words were comprised of multicolored stickers that stated the suspect needed money and wasn't kidding. He also told the teller not to hand over the money with a dye pack, Streamwood police said.

The teller, who wasn't injured, handed the man multiple $5 and $10 bills, police said. The robber then ran away to the south, and witnesses didn't report seeing a getaway vehicle, according to the FBI. Officials didn't report how much money was taken.

Authorities describe the robber as in his 40s, white, between 5-feet, 5-inches and 5-feet 8-inches tall, with a medium build and weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, a dark baseball cap with the New York Yankees logo and a mustache.
