Plea deal in heroin-related case delayed again

A plea deal was put off yet again Friday for Lindsey Parker, a St. Charles woman accused of obstructing justice by dumping a man's body on a Chicago street after he overdosed on heroin at her house.

Kane County Assistant State's Attorney Kelly Orland told Judge Allen Anderson that "new information" has come to light about two of the St. Charles police officers who were expected to testify against Parker that could potentially impeach their testimony. Namely, one of the detectives has been disciplined, and the other fired, she said.

The state has asked the City of St. Charles to provide the detectives' personnel records, to see why they were disciplined. Orland said she did not know if it is related to the case against Parker or the cases against Nathan Green of Elburn and Jordan Billek, who are also charged with obstruction of justice in the matter.

Parker has been expected to take a deal, in exchange for testifying against Billek and Green.

Parker, 24, of the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive, is accused of abandoning 17-year-old Michael York on a street in Chicago after his apparent heroin overdose at a December 2007 party at Parker's home.

Orland declined to provide the officers' names to reporters after the hearing Friday. The police department has declined to name the officers in question, citing personnel record privacy.

Billek, 19, and Green, 23, are from Maple Park. Green is also charged with supplying heroin to York and Parker. Billek and Parker are out on bond; Green is in the Kane County jail.

Parker is due back in court March 4.
