Mt. Prospect man charged with sex with teen

A Mount Prospect man was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse after Arlington Heights police said they found him in a car with a 16-year-old boy late Tuesday.

Mark Brown, 49, of the 100 block of North Prospect Manor in Mount Prospect, was arrested Tuesday night after officers noticed the car parked behind a business on the 200 block of West Rand Road because the windows were fogged over, said Arlington Heights Police Cmdr. Mike Hernandez. When they went to check on the occupants, they found the man pulling up his pants and the 16-year-old under a blanket, police said.

Officers decided the stories the two were giving did not match and took them into the police station for questioning. At that time both said they had been involved in a sex act when the officers found them, police said.

They also told officers they met three years ago at a business and became friends and then developed a sexual relationship, Hernandez said.

Brown’s bond was set at $80,000 on Wednesday.
