Asks D214 board to make budget public

Jeff Engelhardt’s report on the District 214 board meeting last night (Aug. 4) was excellent, but there were two other very important points for which I am sure he ran out of space.

One was a suggestion to the board to post the tentative budget on their website and to make certain it showed comparative data to enable meaningful analysis and evaluation.

Another one of even more importance was the suggestion to the board that this budget not include raises or increased benefits for any personnel that are not required by contract.

All taxpayers in District 214 should take a look at this budget and make plans to attend the board meeting on Sept. 15.
