Island Lake delays budget vote

The Island Lake village board on Thursday delayed voting on the budget for the 2012 fiscal year, which began June 1. Trustee Shannon Fox recommended the delay, which was approved unanimously, because the trustees had not received final copies of the spending plan. One recent version called for $8.1 million in expenditures and about $6.3 million in anticipated revenue in the new fiscal year. A date was not set for the vote.
