Barrington Fine Arts students receive awards

Eleven Barrington High School Fine Arts Students received recognition from the Barrington Area Conservation Trust for participating in its “Winter Scene Photography Contest.”

Three grand prize winners each received a $100 American Express gift card. The students images will be used by the Barrington Area Conservation Trust as their holiday card or as a note card. The cards will be used to correspond with people interested in helping to preserve and care for open land in Barrington.

There were also winners in the Honorable Mention category. These photographs captured the spirit of our Barrington community in winter.

All honorees received a certificate of merit during a special ceremony in April at Memorial Park in Barrington.

Grand prize winners: Madeleine Lebovic, “Barrington Branches Out”; Jenna Podgorski, “Untitled” (Pole Trees with Snow); Jamie Gray, “Sweetest Moments”

Honorable Mention: Mike Osborn, “A Noisy Silence”; Zach Roe, “Untitled” (Shoe Print in Snow); Sam LaBar, “Pine”; Molly Voska, “Shadow Snow”; Joyce Gaffney, “Untitled” (Sunset); Molly Hendrickson, “Meditation”; Mike Cygan, “Untitled” (River); and Kelsey Carroll, “Dog Days of Winter.”
