Defense gets more evidence in NIU student slaying
SYCAMORE — More evidence has been given to an attorney representing a DeKalb man charged in the death of a slain Northern Illinois University student and Neuqua Valley High School graduate.
The Daily Chronicle reports that during a Tuesday court hearing DeKalb County public defender Regina Harris said she received an external hard drive from prosecutors. The hard drive contains video surveillance where 34-year-old William Curl lived.
Curl has pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the death of Antinette “Toni” Keller. Last month prosecutors provided her with 4,000 pages of evidence.
Keller was an 18-year-old art student from Plainfield. She was last seen Oct. 14 when friends said she went to a park near NIU. Her burned remains were found two days later.
Curl remains held in the DeKalb County jail on more than $5 million bond.
