Mount Prospect accepts bid for drainage improvement program
The Mount Prospect Village Board this week accepted a bid not to exceed $140,000 from Concrete Etc. for the village’s Backyard Drainage Program.
An effort to help solve residential drainage issues, the Backyard Drainage Program will provide rain gardens for seven homes in the village. Rain gardens are gardens planted with the purpose of helping guide and absorb stormwater runoff by using specific designs and water-loving plants.
Sites were selected from 131 homes that met qualifications and whose owners expressed interest in the program.
Concrete Etc. has never done a project for the village before, but Public Works Director Sean Dorsey said he checked with the company’s references in respect to drainage work and former clients raved about the company.
