Why the media’s obsession with Palin?

The news media constantly tell us Sarah Palin is stupid and irrelevant. If so, why do the media relentlessly hound her and her family? Why do they analyze and twist every word she utters? (A couple of times, media pundits disparaged Sarah Palin for her interpretations of history even though she was correct.)

Why are the media wasting thousands of dollars and thousands of hours sifting through 24,000 of Sarah Palin’s e-mails from her term as Alaska’s governor? So far, all they discovered is she was a dedicated public servant and she loves her family.

My conclusion is, for the most part, it’s the news media who are stupid and irrelevant.
