Blackhawks announce preseason schedule

The 2011 preseason schedule for the Chicago Blackhawks features seven games against NHL opponents and a trip to a neutral site — Saskatoon, Saskatchewan — to play the Edmonton Oilers.

The Blackhawks will open their preseason slate with that game against Edmonton at the Credit Union Centre on Sept. 20. Last year the Blackhawks played a neutral site preseason game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Hawks will also play home-and-home series during the preseason with the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals.

Ticket information for the 2011 preseason will be announced at a later date.

Sept. 20: Hawks vs. Edmonton, 6 p. m. *

Sept. 22: Hawks at Pittsburgh, 6 p.m.

Sept. 23: Washington at Hawks, 7 p.m.

Sept. 25: Hawks at Detroit, 3 p.m.

Sept. 28: Detroit at Hawks, 7:30 p.m.

Sept. 30: Pittsburgh at Hawks, 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 2: Hawks at Washington, 4 p.m.
