Metra train near Woodstock hits cow

Riders of three Metra trains were delayed when one of the trains struck a dead cow.

The Northwest Herald reports that a Metra train departing Harvard early Thursday struck the cow near Woodstock. Metra officials say that train and the two following trains into downtown Chicago were delayed.

Metra officials say the train that struck the cow was damaged when cables became loosened and exposed.
