Mt. Prospect salutes old-time radio

The Mount Prospect Community Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 20, in a tribute to old-time radio called “Those Were the Days.”

The free show will be held at the Veterans Memorial Band Shell in Lions Park in Mount Prospect, and will feature longtime Chicago radio personality Ken Alexander and his co-host Steve Darnall.

This live recreation of their nostalgic radio show will evoke memories of “The Lone Ranger,” “Sergeant Preston of the Yukon,” “The Green Hornet,” “Your Hit Parade,” Philip Morris commercials and Jack Benny.
