Crystal Lake man accused of selling pills

A 42-year-old Crystal Lake man faces prison time after his recent arrest for possessing and selling prescription drugs, authorities said.

Christopher Branham, of the 1700 block of Thomasville Lane, faces six felony charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, six charges of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon.

The most serious charges carry a six- to 30-year prison term without the possibility of probation.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Department said the department’s narcotics unit last week seized 379 grams of various prescription-only pain killers, including morphine, methadone, Vicodin and oxycontin.

Officers also found a shotgun and ammunition and the entire investigation took a month, the sheriff’s office said.

Branham is being held on $100,000 bail and is due in court on June 1.
