Police seeking public's help to solve fatal Roselle hit-and-run

The Cook County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help locating the driver in a hit-and-run crash last week that left a 31-year-old Hoffman Estates man dead.

Shawn P. Moore, of the 400 block of Kingman Lane, was struck after leaving a bar in Roselle in the early morning hours of Nov. 10, according to authorities.

Detectives are trying to match vehicle parts left at the scene to determine the make and model of the car that struck Moore about 3 a.m. while he was walking along the 1500 block of South Roselle Road.

Police said a witness called 911 after seeing Moore walking erratically along the road at 2:50 a.m. A second witness called 10 minutes later after finding Moore lying injured in the roadway.

Moore was pronounced dead at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village shortly after 3 a.m., according to police.

The vehicle that hit Moore would have sustained damage to the front end, windshield and hood, police said.

Cook County Sheriff's police canvassed the scene, but said most of the nearby businesses and residences are vacant and that stretch of Roselle Road has little traffic at that time of the morning.

Anyone with information, including body shops or witnesses, is asked to contact sheriff's police at (708) 865-4896.
