Band concert at Stevenson

The Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band hosts its Gala Tenth Anniversary Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Stevenson High School Performing Arts Center, 1 Stevenson Drive, Lincolnshire. The theme is “Celebrating a Decade of Music”. Wayne Messmer will narrate a new band arrangement of “Casey at the Bat” and will be joined by Kathleen Messmer as they sing highlights from “The King and I” and “Man of La Mancha.” The program will close with an original transcription that has not been performed in more than 40 years. For the finale, the band will be joined by the choir of St. Mary Church in Buffalo Grove and the brass section of the Stevenson High School Honor Band. Tickets are $12 at the door, $8 for seniors and students with ID. Information is at bgsb.org.
