Veterans to visit Lincolnshire bookstore
Thirty veterans from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War will tell their stories during an April 30 book fair at a Lincolnshire bookstore.
The event will raise money for Honor Flight Chicago, a group that flies veterans to Washington, D.C., to be honored for their service and dedication to preserving freedom for our country.
The book fair is sponsored by two Stevenson High School clubs, Partners for Success and Students Helping Soldiers, in partnership with veterans from the Sedgebrook retirement community.
The book fair will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Barnes and Noble bookstore, 920 Milwaukee Ave. The store will donate up to 15 percent of sales to Honor Flight Chicago when the organization is mentioned at the register.
Barnes and Noble also will donate a percentage of online book sales made at its website, www.bn.com, from April 30 through May 6. Customers will need to type 10438935 in the coupon code area to qualify.
