Mt. Prospect offers home repair seminar

The Village of Mount Prospect will host a seminar May 11 on the Illinois Home Repair and Remodeling Act.

The hourlong event, “Home Repair and Remodeling: Know Your Consumer Rights,” will be presented by the office of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan at 10 a.m. May 11 at the Mount Prospect village hall, 50 S. Emerson St., Mount Prospect.

Information will include how to avoid home repair scams; tips for finding a contractor; what a contract should include; protecting yourself during the project; and what to do if you are the victim of a home repair scam.
