Man who hit police car sentenced for DUI
A Schaumburg man whose car struck several others, including a police vehicle, pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI in Rolling Meadows Circuit Court.
In exchange for pleading guilty, Rogelio Barron, 26, was sentenced to one year in prison and ordered to pay $3,160 in fines. Barron received credit for the six days he spent in custody following his arrest.
A police officer heard the sound of a crash and saw the defendant’s car pushing two other vehicles at about 4 a.m. on Nov. 6, 2010 in the 4400 block of Arbor Drive in Rolling Meadows, authorities said during Tuesday’s hearing.
The defendant’s car then struck the officer’s car, stopping after about 100 yards, prosecutors said.
