Roosevelt screens film on legendary conservationist for Earth Day
In honor of Earth Day, Roosevelt University will host an April 22 screening of the new film, “Green Fire,” a documentary on the life of legendary conservationist Aldo Leopold.
The screening takes place at 7 p.m. at the university’s Schaumburg campus, 1400 N. Roosevelt Boulevard.
“Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for our Time” explores the life of Leopold, author of “A Sand County Almanac” and one of the best known and most revered conservationists of the 20th century. One of the film’s producers, Gavin Van Horn of the Chicago-based Center for Humans and Nature, is expected to be on hand to discuss the film’s implications for fostering connections between humans and nature in the Chicago region.
