President knows the value of women

One of my favorite stars from childhood passed away. Elizabeth Taylor was a strong woman who knew what she wanted and knew how to get it. Her role in Cleopatra was one of the greatest representations of strong women I have seen to date.

I truly believe that all women can be as beautiful as Liz Taylor and as strong as Cleopatra. I believed in my heart that you can achieve anything you are willing to work hard for. However, I am beginning to ask the question, “How hard does a woman have to work, to receive the same pay as her male counterparts?”

President Obama has recognized the true value of women, by signing the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in 2009 and by naming March, “Women’s History Month.” It brings me great joy to know that the president knows the value of women inside and outside of the workplace.
