Roskam continues to fight for unborn

I would like to thank Congressman Peter Roskam for his support of pro-life legislation. He recently co-sponsored HR 3, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, co-sponsored H.R. 217, the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, co-sponsored H.R. 358, the Protect Life Act, which amends the new health care law to prevent federal funds from being used in the coverage of abortion services.

In addition he voted to support the Pence Amendment to the Continuing Resolution, which prevents taxpayer funds from going to Planned Parenthood Federation, the largest abortion provider in the U.S. Senate Leader Harry Reid has now threatened that the Senate will not tolerate any defunding of Planned Parenthood. Why does Planned Parenthood require $360 million a year in taxpayer funding, when the industry takes in over a billion dollars a year?

Congress should redirect funds now provided to organizations that perform and promote abortion and instead respond to the basic needs of the poor. Abortion is truly nothing more than violence masquerading as compassion. Cutting programs for the poor, while giving hundreds of millions of federal dollars to an organization dedicated to eliminating the children of the poor is tragic.
