Creationism’s place is in church, not school
Although I am not a resident of School District 95, I feel compelled to comment upon their school board candidates’ views that creationism should be taught as part of the science curriculum.
I can’t say this strongly enough: Creationism is not science! It is an interpretation of some of the chapters of the Judeo-Christian Bible rather than scientific investigation.
As such, to teach creationism in the public schools would be to teach religion, which is prohibited by our Constitution.
Therefore, if parents want their children to learn about creationism, they should leave it to their church to do so. It is totally inappropriate for a public school.
