GOP will pay for health care votes

I find it extremely implausible that every single Republican in Congress could be against the health reform bill. What is more likely is that the leadership decided to forsake the needs of citizens and try to sink Obama at any and all costs. Once the Republican leadership chose this path, they resorted to fear mongering. Remember all of the tactics such as referencing death panels? The Republicans have been as transparent as plastic wrap.

The Republican Party is in shambles, desperate, and out of touch with mainstream American. They have, by choice, aligned themselves with radicals of the far right who garner more than their fair share of media attention. There seems to exist a mentality that to wear a "Rush Limbaugh" label is a badge of honor. This has been and is a major miscalculation.

The bottom line is that the Republican leadership took a gamble and lost. They know it and for them to believe that they will prevail in November and regain both houses (above and beyond normal midterm gains by the minority part) further demonstrates that the "living in la la land" concept is alive and well within the Republican ranks.

In time, when citizens come to know that the sky is not falling, their anger will be directed at those who caused them such anguish.

Desperation breeds and promotes poor judgment. Being the "No" party will be a terrible burden to bear for Republicans as a whole. Unfortunately, moderate Republicans who reluctantly accepted and acted on orders from party leaders, will be left to deal with the aftermath; being irrelevant.
