Nominate official West Chicago flower

A deeply rooted tradition and pride in the many outstanding public and private gardens throughout the community has prompted the City of West Chicago to announce its search for an official flower in conjunction with the annual downtown garden festival, Blooming Fest.

“Many cities and states have a designated flower that captures the spirit of that community,” said Mayor Mike Kwasman. “We would like our citizens to weigh-in on the flower that best represents West Chicago.”

To that end, residents and businesses in the City of West Chicago may submit their nomination via an online form at www.westchicago.org, or by stopping in at City Hall, the West Chicago Museum or Gallery 200 to fill out a hand-written nomination form.

The most convincing entries will be chosen for a communitywide vote at this year's Blooming Fest, scheduled for May 21.
