'Spay-Ghetti' fundraiser to help animal shelter pay bills

A newly organized fundraising committee for Helping Paws Animal Shelter in Woodstock met to plan fundraisers to help pay the shelter's average $10,000 a month veterinary bills.

Members discussed the "Spay-Ghetti and No Balls Fundraiser" sponsored by Camp Bow Wow in McHenry, with all of the proceeds going to Helping Paws. Jimano's Pizzeria will cater the "Spay-Ghetti" dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at the McHenry VFW, 3002 W. Route 120, McHenry. Admission is $15 or $7 for children, age 12 and younger.
