Arlington Hts. kicks off ‘Heroes’ initiative
On May 6th, volunteers from the Arlington Heights fire and police departments kicked off Salute Inc.’s Heroes Helping Heroes (H3) initiative, where police and fire personnel volunteer several hours collecting funds for injured or affected military personnel and their families at several intersections here in Arlington Heights.
It was a great success as they collected over $4,700. Arlington Heights is just one of several villages here in Northwest Illinois that will participate in Heroes Helping Heroes over the next several months. The goal of H3 is not just to raise funds for injured and affected military personnel and their families, but to also raise awareness of the challenges they face when an injury or another event occurs.
This is the perfect opportunity for our hometown heroes (police and fire personnel) to support our military heroes and their families, hence the initiative Heroes Helping Heroes. We at Salute Inc. hope to grow this initiative across Illinois and elsewhere, so please pass along the message and when you see an Arlington Heights police officer or firefighter, thank them for their service to our village and also for their support of our military heroes and their families.
Other village police and fire departments planning to participate are Mount Prospect, Park Ridge, Elk Grove and there are still several others pending to join H3 over the next several months.
Again, thanks to the Arlington Heights hometown heroes, you have made a great contribution to making a difference in the lives of our military personnel and their families. Keep up the great work and Salute, Inc. looks forward to having you on board with H3 in 2012.
