From disillusion to pride in America

Health care reform makes me - a first generation immigrant American - proud to be an American. We moved to the U.S. because we felt the values of freedom, justice and looking out for humanity aligned with our value systems.

Over the past decade, I have felt disillusioned with where we as Americans are heading. I understand fear and uncertainties could have paralyzed us from putting new structures into place that will benefit millions today and many more million American for years to come, so I feel health care reform is a courageous step in doing what is right.

With the Obama government I feel comfortable and proud that we are once again, God willing, finding who we (Americans) are, and be the nation that stands head and shoulders above the rest of the world.
