Montini routs St. Francis

Montini 74, St. Francis 28: Whitney Holloway had 17 points, 7 assists and 4 steals, as No. 1 Montini rolled past St. Francis 74-28 in the final of the Class 3A Montini regional.

Montini (28-2), which won its sixth straight regional championship, held St. Francis scoreless for a 15-minute stretch from the end of the first quarter into the third quarter. Whitney Adams, Mallory Sosnovich and Kiki Wilson each added 9 points and Alison Seberger had 7 points and 8 rebounds for the Broncos, who play the Glenbard South-St. Joseph winner in Tuesday's sectional semifinal in LaGrange.

Lauren Pisarski and Kelly McShea paced St. Francis (10-19) with 6 points apiece.

Walther Lutheran 52, Immaculate Conception 45: Morgan Ransom scored 20 points, as the Broncos knocked off the Knights in the championship of the Class 2A Willows Academy sectional.

Erin Dunne scored 13 points, Taylor Reaber 11 and Maggie Ryan 10 for IC (29-4), denied a title in its first sectional final since 1980.

King 57, Wheaton Academy 49 (OT): Alexa Sharkey scored 18 points with 14 rebounds, but the Warriors came up short in the final of the Class 3A King regional in Chicago. Kristine Egebrecht added 12 points, Meghan Grant 9 and Sydney Sharkey 8 for Wheaton Academy (21-7), which was seeking its second straight regional title. Alexa Sharkey, a senior, finished with 1,711 points for the Warriors' varsity.
