$1 million bail for man accused in Addison molestation

An Addison man accused of molesting a 6-year-old girl was being held in the DuPage County jail Friday on $1 million bail, authorities said.

Gaspar Salvador, 54, was indicted by the grand jury Thursday on six counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Authorities said Salvador repeatedly molested a 6-year-old girl over a period of about five months while living with the victim's family in Addison. He was arrested earlier this month on preliminary charges.

Salvador faces up to 60 years in prison, with the possibility of consecutive sentences, if convicted of one or more counts of the most serious offense, prosecutors said.

He is scheduled to appear before Judge Daniel Guerin on April 4.
