Schaumburg police nab burglars pronto

I want to recognize the Schaumburg Police Department for the fantastic job they did in arresting the burglars that broke into our home March 10th.

I stopped home for a moment; this is unusual since I’m either on the road or at my office. When I pulled into my driveway I clicked open the garage door. Something didn’t look right.

As I got out of my car, my neighbor yelled, “Three guys just jumped over my backyard fence, I think you’re getting robbed.”

I started to walk into the house as I called 911. The 911 operator told me to get out of the house and back into the street. Within minutes Officer Rafferty was there; minutes later squad cars sped off into different directions covering the neighborhood.

There was an unidentified car parked a few doors down, we pointed out to Officer Rafferty. He blocked the car. That car was eventually tied to the burglars.

A van with an unidentified officer and a dog came. In the home they picked up the scent — with the officer in tow the dog took off on the trail.

Officer Rafferty gave us all a feeling comfort and safety. He stayed close by us and assured that everything possible was being done. Detective Poradzisz was put on the case.

With prior work put into several suspects in the past, Detective Poradzisz and the team of officers where able to link suspects to this case and apprehend the burglars red-handed.

As a taxpaying citizen, to know that my tax dollars are being spent on the best professionals in law enforcement, is reassuring.

All the officers and detectives involved showed concern, professionalism and an understanding of the violation we felt having our home robbed, while staying focused on their task.

This team acted so quickly and professionally the burglars must have been in a state of panic feeling the pressure of the police and detectives hot on their trail. Schaumburg, we are so lucky to have these good men and women on our side. Bless them all, including my great neighbor!
