Events raise money to aid Illinois Veterans

Money raised at the fundraising events held at the Ye Olde Town Inn in Mount Prospect and Somebody's Pub in Arlington Heights will be used by Deerfield-based United Relief Foundation to make a noticeable and lasting difference in the lives of Illinois Veterans.

"It is rewarding to come in contact with so many generous people wanting to make a difference," comments United Relief Foundation Co-founder Frank Salato. "One reason volunteers and donors are attracted to the United Relief Foundation is because we make a tangible connection between contributors and recipients; and using a wood stud, signed by contributors, in a house for a Veteran certainly helps to make that connection."

With a mission to provide compassion, comfort and care to ease human suffering within the United States, the United Relief Foundation started Project Restoring Hope with the specific purpose of addressing the needs of homeless Illinois Veterans.

The donations from the events, along with other generous contributions, will go to providing essential care items and the creation of affordable housing for Veterans and their families.
