Support Patterson, Thon for Streamwood trustee

I am writing this letter in support of candidates Guy Patterson and Mary Thon running for trustee in the Village of Streamwood. Guy Patterson has been a supporter of balanced budgets, quality village services, public safety and diversified, responsible growth.

Guy believes in collaborating with other branches of government to secure grants or participate in programs that will benefit the residents of Streamwood. Guy has lived in the village for 22 years, is a local business owner, husband and father of three teen aged daughters. Guy has volunteered to serve on various committees with the village, park district and high school booster club.

Guy Patterson and I served on the Streamwood park board as commissioners, and know him to be dedicated, hardworking and worthy of your vote.

Mary Thon is a newcomer to village politics. Mary became interested in wanting to give back to the community several years ago by joining several village committees. These positive experiences lead Mary to explore other opportunities to serve and she chose to run for the village board. Mary supports the village philosophy of providing efficiently run services, maintaining strong financial reserves and keeping taxes low. Mary will bring a fresh approach and new ideas to solving the challenges facing the village board.

Mary is a student adviser with Keller Graduate School and a part-time instructor with College of DuPage. She has served as president of her Homeowners Association and volunteers at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Mary states she is a “good listener and a great problem solver.” Mary has no hidden agenda and will make an excellent trustee.

I hope you will agree with me that Guy Patterson and Mary Thon are top quality contenders for village trustee of Streamwood. They will work hard to keep Streamwood the growing, vibrant community it has become while preserving its commitment to cost effective services and low taxes. Guy Patterson and Mary Thon are both excellent candidates deserving of your vote on April 5th.
