Dist. 220 budget talk delayed

Because of the expected blizzard tonight, discussion of Barrington Unit District 220’s 2011-12 budget and its anticipated $2 million in cuts will be deferred from Tuesday night’s meeting to a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St. in Barrington.

The rest of the items on the board of education’s meeting agenda Tuesday will be discussed or voted upon as scheduled.

The proposed budget cuts has drawn criticism from many parents, especially those with students in the district’s gifted program. Many of those parents had been expected to make their case before the school board tonight.
