Construction worker dies at Glenbrook Hospital

A 43-year-old construction worker died after a beam fell on top of him at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Police and Fire Department personnel responded to an emergency call at 1:23 p.m. requesting assistance for a man trapped under a beam at the hospital located on the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road, said Police Commander Jeff Ader.

The worker was rushed to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save him, officials said.

Adder said the accident is under investigation by OSHA, but did not require a criminal investigation.
