Coalition advocates for living wages

The Living Wage Jobs Coalition will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.

Two speakers will each present arguments about why the coalition should affiliate with their organizations.

Fran Tobin from Jobs with Justice will explain why the coalition should consider becoming a chapter of that organization and how it can affiliate.

John Gaudette of Citizen Action, Illinois will talk about the scope and vitality of his organization and how the coalition can work together with or without any formal affiliation.

Living Wage Jobs Coalition brings together people from organized labor, the peace and justice movement, environmentalists, unemployed people, religious leaders and community leaders to advocate for federal action to create jobs.

The meeting is free and open to all. For details, call Mary Shesgreen at (847) 742-6602 or visit www.livingwagejobs-illinois.net.
